‘CSI’ Goes Big in Season 5

by Shane Saunders

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation conquered this season, with a Hollywood mogul directing, and reaching the 100 episode mark.

‘CSI’ began this season with the outcome of Sara Sidle’s (Jorja Fox) drinking and driving back in Season four. With the episode revealing why she made such a “stupid” mistake, carried on through-out the season.

Not only within the first half of the season, big changes and directing came into play. With Conrad Ecklie (Marc Vann) reappearing as the newly promoted Crime Lab Assistant Director splitting the “graveyard” shift into two, Sara’s anger letting out, and Nick Stokes (George Eads) being buried six feet under the ground, being directed by ‘Kill Bill’ director, Quentin Tarantino.

‘CSI’ also reached their 100 episode mark with ‘Ch-Ch Changes.’ The CSI’s going into the world of trans-genders.  The episode made the most viewers in the ‘CSI’ franchise history.

Relationships began to bloom with the newest addition to the CSI team, Sofia Curtis (Louise Lombard) and Grissom’s blooming feelings for her. Catherine (Marg Helgenberger) also experienced a rocky shake in ‘Weeping Willows’ when her latest boy-toy is suspected of committing multiple murders.

This season seemed to be the “limit” for writers. With new writers and directors coming into play, who knows what will occur next season. Who knows, maybe Quentin Tarantino will sign on to be a regular director.
